A reflective paint for livestock that makes animals visible at night to motor vehicle drivers

Memphis Kaotsane – Moonshine Reflective Spray

A few years ago a friend drove into a cow at night on a road outside Estcourt, causing extensive damage to his bakkie. The cow, needless to say, was a goner. I remembered this today when being contacted about Moonshine Reflective Spray. I quote from the email:

Personal tragedy turned into innovation: After losing a family member in a road accident caused by livestock at night, Memphis Kaotsane was determined to find a solution. His invention, Moonshine Reflective Spray, makes animals visible from up to 200 metres away, preventing collisions and saving lives on rural roads.

A safer, kinder solution: The spray is completely non-toxic and harmless to animals, needing only to be reapplied every three months. Farmers gain peace of mind that their animals won’t be hit in the road while motorists stay safe – a simple innovation with life-saving impact.

From idea to patent: Based in the North West, Memphis created and patented this innovative product. Moonshine Reflective Spray proves that rural, homegrown innovation can deliver world-class solutions to urgent community challenges”.
